So, when I first thought of signing up for a [info]bandom_recs day, I decided that it was a necessity to post about these boys. But I was a little worried, because I had nothing to connect them to bandom. But then they made my life easy. They decided to go on FN'MTV. I'll give you three hints as to who they are:

1. They are not from the U.S.
2. They have the Japanese capital in their name.
3. They are a quartet.

Their English is good. Yours is too!Collapse )
(first pic might be nsfw.  nothing really, really extreme, but just a disclaimer)

(Also!  be sure to check out all of xcarex</lj> 's awesome band recs, here.  Holla east coast!)

Hello again,

I am a cynical hopeless romantic (or just hopeless) and I love love love fics that are angsty but have a little bit of hope. I also love fics with awkward first and secrets. And so this week a bring you a few fics I love that involve those elements. I hope you'll comment with your favorites like this too!

Secrets, Firsts and Unrequited loveCollapse )

My apologies for missing last week and being late this week. I completely blame Aristotles and his habit of writing down everything that was on his mind. All his fault.

Anyway! Let's ogle talk about Andrew "the Butcher" Mrotek!

He has the awesomest tattoos of all of Decaydance. He's TAI's baby genius. He's half-naked a lot of the time. He drums. He plays bass. He paints. He bikes. He has Valentine's Day episodes of TAI tv with Sisky. He is, in short, awesome.

various demonstrations of awesomenessCollapse )

Please do comment with your own favorite Butcher moments or fics or photos! I know there's got to be more out there.

This is the next installment of my Canadian Invasion. Alexisonfire (Alexis On Fire) is one of the biggest bands in the country, and a few of the member's side projects, City & Colour and Black Lungs are quickly gaining status. Alexisonfire will fuck your shit up, but you'll enjoy it. Trust me.
The tracks I've put up are, for the most part, completley random choices.

And so concludes this week! Thank you for reading, and see you next time when we change genres completely and meet beautiful Canadian babies.

Despite that most of my favourite bands are all American, my heart will forever be in Canada and loyal to Canadian music. MuchMusic is obviously the best source for new and existing Canadian tunes (when they’re not playing America’s Next Best Dance Crew), and I’m here to tell you about the eight VJs who I love to hate.
I've linked all the videos I can find of them interviewing bandom bands, as well. There have been way more times bandom bands have been on Much, at award shows and on "making of" specials, etc., but I haven't included them because I'm focusing on the VJs.

The opinions expressed here are solely my *own* based off of what the following people portray on television. I don't claim to know them (though I think I saw Tim when I was in Toronto), or anybody they know, and nothing I say is meant to be a personal attack on anybody.
